3 years of project management experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in any discipline

  • What is the Eligibility?

    To be eligible for the PMP® certification, you must first meet specific education and experience requirements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct.
  • Applicants must have 35 hours of specific project management education.
  • With a Bachelor’s Degree (or the global equivalent): Applicants must have a minimum three years’ professional project management experience, during which 4,500 hours are spent leading and directing project tasks, up to eight years from the time of application.
  • Without a Bachelor’s Degree (or the global equivalent): Applicants must have a minimum five years’ professional project management experience, during which at least 7,500 hours are spent leading and directing project tasks, up to eight years from the time of application.
  • How are PMP® Exam Conducted?
    The final step in becoming a PMP® is passing a multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess and measure your project management knowledge. The examination is 4 hours online computerized test, which gives the results instantaneously.

    This computer-based examination is administered globally. In India it is conducted by Prometric India based in Delhi having centers all over India. There is center at Saki Naka in Mumbai.
  • What is the Passing Criteria?
    There are 200 objective type questions in a 4 hour paper with minimum passing score is *** (Changes often so kindly refer to PMI website) out of 200. There is NO NEGATIVE MARKING.
  • What is the Validity of PMP® Certification?
    Note that this certification has a validity of three years and has Continuing Certification Requirements for renewal after 3 years.
  • 4. How much is ther Exam Feed?
    The membership fees of PMI and MC (Local Mumbai Chpater) are as follows: -

    a) PMI membership - $119
    b) Application fee - $ 10
    c) Local Chapter fee (MC) - $ 25 (Optional)

  • How to Apply?
    One can apply online by filling up form on their website and pay through international credit card (or offline by couriering the form along with the payment). All fees should be sent to PMI directly.

    You may access PMI web-site and obtain both the PMI Membership Application Form as well as that for registration for PMP® Certification Examination.
  • How to get 35 Hours of Classroom Training?
    There are many such universities/colleges, training companies, local chapters and REP (Registered Education Providers) who conduct this classroom training of 35 hours.

    We at Knowledgeware conduct these sessions regularly with well experienced faculty.

    The session is generally of one full week, weekend batches or part time batches. Total duration should not be less than 35 hours.
  • How much time it takes to prepare for the Exam?

    It really depends upon the person who is preparing for it. Generally it takes anything between 3 months and 6 months from the day one decides to appear for the same up to the date when one clears it.

    First one should make an application to PMI and also register for 35 hours training. Then as per the schedules of these providers, free yourself to take those 35 hours of classroom training. All this generally takes around 1-2 months.

    Then one has to self-study the course material and takes a few mock tests. This can be done in a month’s time depending upon the other engagements. One may study for 2-3 hours on working days and for 6-8 hours on weekends.

    Finally one has to apply for the examination and make bookings with examination center. This can be done one month in advance but this has to be done within 6 months of applying for PMI membership.
  • What is the Reference Material?
    “PMBOK Guide Edition IV” is the main course material.
